Marshfield Pioneer Cemetery Memorial Day Weekend

All veterans are invited at 1 p.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th to have their photo taken at the 1915 Soldier-Sailor Monument. Honoring the eldest veterans in attendance and recreating a historic photograph first taken in the cemetery in 1926 with the Coos Bay region’s seven remaining Civil War veterans. It was again recreated on May 30, 2015 at the re-dedication of the Sailor-Soldier Monument that was originally erected for the 50th anniversary of the end of the Civil War. The cemetery is open dawn to dusk on Memorial Day weekend.
