Here’s how to enjoy brews and views from Reedsport to Brookings.

After hiking sun-drenched dunes or between bundled-up walks on the beach, there’s nothing like a hearty meal and a handcrafted pint. These Southern Oregon Coast brewpubs feel instantly welcoming, thanks to friendly faces behind the taps and a show-up-as-you-are attitude. It doesn’t matter if you arrive windblown from a walk on the beach or fresh from a fishing boat. Settle in, catch a local band and play trivia, or just enjoy some great beer and even better company.

Cozy Brewpubs in Reedsport, North Bend and Coos Bay

About 25 miles north of Coos Bay, the Two Shy Brewing taproom on the historic strip of downtown Reedsport is the kind of place you wander into, wrap your hands around a pint and end up staying awhile. The whole family is welcome, dogs included. Handcrafted beers are on tap, including favorites like Worth the Wait Hazy IPA and Ella Pilsner. There’s no kitchen, but pizza and other hot food from nearby restaurants can be delivered. Check out the calendar for live music and trivia nights.

In North Bend, North Forty Beer Company is where you sit down with a loaded burger and house-cut fries that regulars swear by — perfect for lingering and soaking up the convivial atmosphere. Pair your meal with a bold dark brew like the Black Forest Stout. Outdoor seating is just right all year long; either enjoy a summery night or take the edge off cool coastal days around the fireplace on the outdoor patio. Check the calendar for live music and other events.

7 Devils Brewing Co. has two locations in Coos Bay, where each spot has its own vibes and views, with mouthwatering menus that are just as impressive as the beer. The downtown Brewery & Public House is basically the town’s communal living room — full of local art and an easy come-as-you-are energy. Pub classics and shareable plates round things out, and some nights bring live music or trivia. Sitting along the Coos Bay bayfront, you’ll find each table in the Waterfront Ale House has its own waterfront view of a multitude of boats and ships riding the wind and waves. It’s a perfect stop for coastal favorites like locally fresh-caught oysters and fish and chips that pair well with a pint of whimsically named Coos Light Lager brewed in-house. Afterward, head out for a leisurely walk along the bayfront.

Perfect Pints of Beer and Cider in Bandon and Gold Beach

About 25 miles south of Coos Bay, Bandon is the kind of town where a waterfront walk leads you right to food and brews. Bandon Brewing Company is located in historic Old Town Bandon, where hot, wood-fired pizzas straight from the oven pair well with pints of Pacific Puffin Porter and Old Town Lager. It’s a casual, comfortable place to refuel after walking the Coquille River waterfront, where public art lines the boardwalk.

A few blocks away, Bandon Rain offers a bright beer alternative — small-batch ciders brewed in a range of flavors. The downtown taproom is relaxed and spacious, perfect for a flight or a pint of Cranberry Squall, brewed with locally grown berries. Light snacks are available on-site, or plan on a picnic with take-home beverages and cheese from award-winning Face Rock Creamery next door.

Arch Rock Brewing Co.’s taproom in Gold Beach, about 55 miles south of Bandon, keeps the beer list short but the standards high. After enjoying sea stacks at the nearby Arch Rock Viewpoint, relax with a Pistol River Pale or award-winning Arch Rock Porter to pair with something delicious from the food trucks out front.
