Powers County Park

Powers County Park is a unique recreational complex provided by Coos County. The park is located in the city limits of Powers, Oregon; 100 Powers County Park, Powers, OR 97466′ eighteen miles from the junction of Highway 42 and Highway #242. The park and rural community of 700 people are surrounded by mountainous beauty and lush ranch land. The park is open year-round for RV, cabin or tent camping. The campground consists of 70 campsites, 40 RV sites with electrical and water hookups, 30 sites that are ideal for tent camping, the park has 3 cabins that you can reserve, handicap accessible restrooms with flush toilets, warm showers, and a sanitary disposal station are conveniently located. 

RV campsites are available for online reservations, tents sites are on a first-serve basis. A pleasing part of Powers County Park is the willingness of the staff to always find room for one more camper. The large day-use area includes three picnic shelters, tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, a fish cleaning stand, horseshoe pits, playground area, and a softball field.

A steam engine logging yarder, or "Steam Donkey," used in Coos County logging operations in the early 1900’s is placed on display in the park. Along the park walkway, you can also view an authentic hand-carved 20-foot totem pole. The park’s south end is bordered by a 30+ acre man-made lake. The lake is stocked with trout, bass, catfish, and crappie. Boats are allowed on the lake if they are not powered by a gasoline motor. 

The South Fork of the Coquille River is located within walking distance of the park and provides good swimming and trout fishing in the summer, and steelhead fishing in the winter. The scenic mountains around the park are excellent for sightseeing, hiking, or hunting.  Deer, elk, black bear, coyote, raccoon, and various species of birds are among the wildlife found in the natural splendor of the surrounding national forest.

Powers Park is now taking reservations for RV sites and cabins online.
